Proposal (WIRED)
Rationale: A reflection on your strengths, skills and achievements previously gained and evaluate your choice of pathway or specialism
From the past project, I believe I have gained some useful skills to help me in the Final Major Project (FMP). Since Project 1 I have gained experience from the event I put on. Communication skills was something that I know I lacked during the event but now that it's over I can see clearly how having these skills would've really helped me during Project 2. My organisational skills were a strength throughout project 2 as I kept on top of diaries and had things completed within the deadlines, this will help me within the FMP. I have gained knowledge on the amount of research that I should include in my FMP which I lacked at the beginning of my project.
I haven't gained any skills for putting on a live music event yet. Doing my event WIRED will help me gain knowledge on live music events and how they work.
Project Concept: An outline of your event including details of collaborations, venue, equipment, industry context and other related considerations.
My event is a live music night that will take place on March 18th. For this event I would like to select 5 underground artists, with a 30 minute slot each, so they may have a chance to gain a bigger following. I will collaborate with the artists for this event. The venue I will be using is Coast. It is located on Worthing seafront which is a 20 minute walk from the train station so it is easy enough for people to get to.
For a live music event I will need a lot more equipment than for a club night. I will require amps, microphones, mic stands, cables, instruments and lastly somebody t help me set it all up. I can use the college equipment if it is available that night and if I have a way of getting it to the venue. There are also students on the music technician course who may want to help me set up in order to gain more knowledge outside of college. Luckily I have the college or else finding all the equipment would be a lot harder.
Evaluation: An explanation of how you will document your reflection and evaluation of your project as it progresses based on your preferred mode(s) of communication.
For my Final Major Project I will document my reflection in a diary format, much how I presented my work for poject 2. Instead of using so many website pages I will be squeezing them onto one for each part of the project. This is because this prject has many different sections. At the end of every week I will evaluate my progress from the past week and will evaluate what I need to do the following week. I will write on my meetings and all about my research if I inluded any that week.
